📌 Attendance Reminder:
Our school day begins promptly at 7:50 AM, and consistent attendance is key to student success—every day counts! To support timely arrivals:
Parents/guardians dropping off students after 7:50 AM will receive a Parent Tardy—a friendly reminder of our start time.
Students arriving at 8:05 AM or later must be signed in by a parent/guardian at the front office.

Smith Elementary is offering families the option to purchase insurance for your child’s Chromebook. This plan helps cover repair or replacement costs in case of accidental damage, loss, or theft. To purchase a plan, visit our school’s online webstore at

Help Prevent the Summer Slide! 📚☀️
As we wrap up the school year, we encourage you to keep your child engaged in learning throughout the summer. Research shows that students can lose significant academic progress over the summer months—commonly referred to as the “summer slide.”
To help prevent this, here are a few simple ways to keep your child learning and productive:
Set aside time daily for reading (libraries often have free summer reading programs!)
Practice math facts to strength and develop math fluency.
Encourage writing through journals, letters, or creative stories
Utilize learning-based educational CCISD apps & websites
Visit museums, parks, or local educational events

Exciting news from the Smith Roadrunner Library!
We’re proud to share that our library has been awarded a $750 FOCUS Grant from Coastal Bend Credit Union! These funds will go toward purchasing brand-new books for our Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Even more exciting—our newly renovated library, opening in Fall 2025, will be the perfect place for students to enjoy these fresh reads.
