Welcome back, Smith students and parents! We are kicking off 2012 with a revised behavior chart in ALL of our classrooms. Please refer to the PDF document below for an explanation of your student’s “color” that will be recorded in his or her citizenship folder daily. All students will begin each day on GREEN, as this color denotes our school-wide expectations. We want to recognize those students who go above and beyond by allowing them to move their behavior clip UP rather than just DOWN as we have done in the past. Please review this chart with your student and check his or her folder regularly to help us encourage positive behavior here at Smith. Thank you and Happy New Year!

School achievement depends upon regular attendance. Every day that your student is absent from Smith is like removing a brick from his or her foundation of learning.
Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education to benefit from teacher-led and school activities, to build each day’s learning on the previous day’s, and to grow as an individual. Absences may result in serious disruption of a student’s mastery of the instructional material, so every effort should be made to attend.
